Copywriting

As a professional copywriter, my job is to help you get your message across, achieve your personal or company goals and look good. After all, every piece of writing that comes out of your office reflects upon you. Shouldn’t it be as clear, crisp, and compelling as possible?

I can help you by providing powerful, accurate writing that informs, interests, and, most importantly, persuades your target audience to take the next step.

Let me use my professional communication skills to help you create articles, press releases, booklets, sales letters, newsletters, ads, speeches, web copy, direct mailings, data sheets, brochures, annual reports, manuals or audiovisual scripts. I can also help by critiquing and editing materials you are already using.

When we work together, you’ll learn that my copy is professional and engaging, that I am easy to work with, and that — most importantly — my writing gets results.

My background? I have a bachelor's degree in journalism as well as a master's degree. I’ve written hundreds of successful feature articles, advertorials, brochures, press releases, ads and other copy for newsletters, web sites, newspapers, magazines and other clients.

Why hire a copywriter?

"We write our own stuff in-house," you're thinking. "Why pay someone when we can do it ourselves?"

Here's why: Because professionally written business materials look, well, professional. I can often tell when someone writes his or her own business materials.

If you can't tell, that's even more of a reason to hire a professional. Because I'm not the only one who notices. Some of your customers notice, too. If your written materials aren't top-notch, they can detract from the professional image you otherwise present to your clients.

And even more importantly, if your written materials aren't written by a professional, they might not be working for you as hard as they should be.

When I write a press release, I know exactly what details to include, in what order, and what to leave out — so my press releases get results. When I prepare newsletter text I'm not just writing an article, I'm helping you focus, communicate, sell. Every type of written piece serves a different purpose and therefore needs a different approach.  I know what those approaches are and my clients tell me they get great results from my work.

And it goes without saying that everything I prepare for my clients comes in on deadline, accurate and free from spelling and grammatical errors.

Other reasons to outsource your writing

• You're busy with other work and your employees are already overloaded.
•  For a fresh approach.
• Because though you've already written some good copy, you'd like a professional to polish it up for maximum impact.

People ask me: Do you work with clients located elsewhere?

Yes. We can make this happen no matter where you're located. I have found that between the phone, email, fax and Fedex, it is just as convenient to work with someone far-off as it is with someone near. At times distance is actually a plus, as we aren't tempted to sit in long, sometimes-less-than-productive meetings together.

How we work together

Here's how it works: You call or email, we will discuss your project, and you let me know if you want to proceed.

I'll prepare a  written estimate for my services and ask you to submit an initial deposit (generally one half of the total fee). Upon receiving your deposit, we'll get started.

Going into your job, I will ask a lot of questions. I need to know exactly what you want to get across, and and also need to be able to write authoritatively about your business. I'll ask you for plenty of background material about your company and/or product, including previously written informational background, brochures, sales letters, etc., as appropriate.

I will prepare the materials and submit them to you. If needed, I will provide up to two rounds of revisions that you request within 30 days. There is no additional charge for these revisions unless they are due to a change of direction on your part, in which case they are billed at my hourly rate.

I'll send an invoice for the remaining balance and ask you to pay within 15 days. I'll thank you for your business and look forward to working with you again.

Rates schedule

Projects vary widely in difficulty, range, scope, scheduling and more, and  therefore fees can, as well. Please call and I'll quote a price for your specific project.
